Hometown: Always a relative question, I lived in Des Moines, IA before beginning the grand adventure.

Current Occupation: Peace Corps Volunteer, Community Capacity Building, Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT) Program

About Me:  I spent my childhood in a few different places...was born in Connecticut, but also lived in Chicago, Cleveland, and Dallas.  Graduated from high school in '01...and took the scenic route through undergrad.  I graduated in December of 2007 from the University of North Texas with a B.A. in Political Science and a B.S. in Family and Development Studies. 

Des Moines, Iowa is where I most recently called home in the states.  I moved there in August for an internship with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a great job with the Department of Public Health, and to spend some time with my mom before what I considered an inevitable departure to the Peace Corps.  I never imagined that I would love Des Moines as much as I did.  Its a city with the perfect pace of life, friendly people, a fabulous farmers market, and FOUR seasons.  (Coming from Dallas that last thing was huge.)

What's after Peace Corps?  Good question.  Hopefully a job, the GREs and starting my Masters in Public Health...at least that's the plan for now. :-)
